BOOKLET
Part I of the digital release from the CD
“GEOMETRY OF THE SOUL – Homage to the Poet GERT JONKE (1946–2009)”
The text set to music in “Chlorophyllklang” is a synthesis of published and previously unpublished writings by the poet Gert Jonke.
It may have faded somewhat from public memory: the “composer of language” Gert Jonke illuminated in his virtuosic texts—through grotesque, absurd, and sharply refined perspectives—the ways in which society absorbs and appropriates both human beings and nature.
In “Chlorophyllklang,” a government research officer investigates the music-producing abilities of plant musicians and discovers the unexpected.
