Greatest Little Hits I” is both a retrospective of the 2008 debut album [koe:r] by Susanna Ridler and an expansion of it.
The album brings together all original compositions from that recording and adds two previously unreleased pieces rediscovered in the archive from the same production period: “Aria Electrica” and “Time Goes By".

Eighteen years later, both tracks have been newly arranged and completed, and will be released in advance as a single.
“Aria Electrica,” recorded in 2007 with soprano Monika Bruck, combines operatic vocal lines with electronically transformed staccato voices and beats — a fascinating interplay between two worlds that today, in the age of AI-generated music, seems almost visionary.
“Time Goes By,” originally left unfinished, reflects on the subjective sensation of how quickly those eighteen years have passed.
The album [koe:r] was a contemporary exploration of electronics, pop, and jazz, shaped by a melancholic, downbeat aesthetic in the spirit of trip hop. Sampling, sonic transformation, and digital studio techniques met Ridler’s distinctive voice, which functioned both as a sonic signature and as the central carrier of the songs.

Interpretations of classics such as “Corcovado,” “Fever,” and “Summertime” were also elevated to an unexpectedly new level. The recording received wide media attention and was praised for its detailed electronica soundscapes and its distinctive fusion of emotional immediacy and conceptual depth.

The project [koe:r] emerged from Ridler’s search for an individual artistic language between tradition and modernity.
The sound was shaped by contributions from renowned figures of the Austrian jazz scene, including double bassist Peter Herbert, saxophonist Wolfgang Puschnig, trumpeter Thomas Gansch, guitarist Helmut Jasbar, and drummer Rainer Deixler.

With “Greatest Little Hits I,” [koe:r] becomes newly audible as a timeless document of a consistent artistic development.
On March 20th 2026 “Greatest Little Hits II” will follow, bringing together the original compositions from the second [koe:r] album “Susystems” (2012), and in April/May “Covers,” which collects all [koe:r] cover versions.

In addition, a reissue of a 2009 remix EP will follow, featuring remixes by I-Wolf (Sofa Surfers), LOWA (featuring Uwe Walkner), BRENDA (Honolulu), DIX (Heinz), and Ridler.

Part I of the digital release from the CD
“GEOMETRY OF THE SOUL – Homage to the Poet GERT JONKE (1946–2009)”

The text set to music in “Chlorophyllklang” is a synthesis of published and previously unpublished writings by the poet Gert Jonke.
It may have faded somewhat from public memory: the “composer of language” Gert Jonke illuminated in his virtuosic texts—through grotesque, absurd, and sharply refined perspectives—the ways in which society absorbs and appropriates both human beings and nature.

In “Chlorophyllklang,” a government research officer investigates the music-producing abilities of plant musicians and discovers the unexpected.
